Basically, this issue is an all out free-for-all with the Secret Avengers battling The Shadow Council and Fu Manchu, with the life of Shang-Chi on the line.
Fu Manchu draws blood from Shang-Chi and begins the ritual to resurrect himself during the battle, but Prince of Orphans sneaks up on him and smashes his relics, then bashes his tattered body to smithereens before the ritual can be completed. The Shadow Council declares the whole scheme a loss at this point; Max Fury and Thorndrake sneaking away “to fight another day”, leaving John Steele behind.
