The first issue of Flashpoint finally sees release today. This is DC Comics’ big summer event, and its first actually “starring” the Flash. And while I would love to report it’s a great introductory issue, the truth is Flashpoint #1 stumbles out of the gate. While the book overall is pretty to look at and there are some fun story beats, not helping its cause is DC’s promotion of the series. It’s been so thorough (while still telling us so little) that it has ruined a good number of Flashpoint #1’s biggest twists in the process. If you’re expecting some surprises outside of what you already know, think again.
